About Me
I attended LaVarenne Culinary School in Paris and Burgundy and finished a year-long editorial and cooking program there. After remaining in Europe another two years, cooking on boats and at resorts and restaurants in France, Italy, Greece, London, and Budapest, I returned to Los Angeles, kicking and screaming. I escaped to a boat in Alaska as soon as possible, where I spent a season as a sous-chef among the whales.
Back in California, I continued to pursue a career as a professional cook, and worked for a while as an editor for a wine newsletter called "First Sip".
I now live in New York where I'm involved in several projects. I write articles and test recipes for the Wall Street Journal food page as well as for cookbooks, including one co-authored by Laurent Tourondel and Michele Scicolone.
I've been writing a diary of my 3 years as a travelling food obsessive which I may use as a basis for some future project. Basically, I like to play with and talk about food.
